How cash back credit cards work

Cash back credit cards work by giving you a certain percentage back on your purchases. For example, if your cash back credit card offers 5% cash back and you spend $100 with your credit card, you will earn $5 in cash rewards.

How do you redeem your rewards?

Once you have earned a certain amount, usually between $25 and $50, you can request a check in your name to be sent to your home. Some credit cards allow you to put your rewards towards your credit card bill.
